Charity abseil marks completion of Elizabeth House

Elizabeth House MG 1284

To mark the completion of Elizabeth House in Wembley, a team of 28 brave volunteers have abseiled down the 12 storey landmark building, seeing for themselves the spectacular views over Wembley Stadium and London offered by Elizabeth House as they raised over £2,285 for charity. Employees of developer Octavia and contractor Willmott Dixon took part in the charity event on Saturday 6 July.

Of the funds raised, half will go to Help for Heroes and the other half to the Octavia Foundation, a community charity set up by Octavia to supporting local people in west and central London during times of personal crisis.

Sue Dance, Head of Sales & Marketing at Octavia Living, commented: “This was not an event for the faint-hearted, so we would like to thank everyone who bravely took part, as well as everyone who has donated, raising money for two great charities. The sales at Elizabeth House have gone extremely well with many first time buyers securing a new home in this vibrant area, just down the road from Wembley Stadium.”

Charlie Scherer, Chief Operating Officer from Willmott Dixon said; The abseil challenge has certainly drawn a lot of attention towards the Elizabeth House development, of which we are honoured to have been given the opportunity to build for Octavia Living. I am pleased to be taking part in the abseil alongside Willmott Dixon and Octavia employees. The completion of Elizabeth House will most certainly be a memorable occasion for all. I would like to thank everyone that has supported and sponsored the event, and most of all, wish all participants the best of luck.”

Elizabeth House is a new development of 115 stylish new apartments prominently positioned at the east end of Wembley High Road. The abseiling team undertook the free-fall abseil down the front façade of Elizabeth House, from a height of over 120 ft or 37m.

Located less than one mile south of Wembley Stadium, Elizabeth House is part of a new vibrant neighbourhood, where the £100 million ‘Destination Wembley’ regeneration campaign has already attracted a wide range of new retail, cultural and nightlife businesses into the area. Elizabeth House offers a mixture of homes available for private sale and under shared ownership. All of the one and two bedroom homes have private balconies and spectacular views across London, while interiors benefit from a high quality specification and finish.
